Jenna Bailey is a freelance writer and historian from Sturgeon County, Alberta, Canada. She studied History at Queen's University in Ontario, Canada where she developed her love of reading letters from the past. This led her to the University of Sussex in Brighton, England, where she did her Master's Degree in Life History Research.
While researching at the Mass Observation Archive at the University of Sussex, Jenna found the papers of the Cooperative Correspondence Club (CCC). She set about finding the members of the CCC, and their families, to piece together the story of this remarkable group of women. This resulted in her bestselling book, Can Any Mother Help Me? which was released in March 2007 by Faber and Faber.
Currently Jenna is researching a book about Ivy Benson and Her All Girls Band. She would love to hear from anyone who has any Ivy Benson related stories. She can be contacted here.
Jenna’s work is dedicated to her beautiful younger sister Emma who, with her brilliant sense of humour, hilarious laugh, and remarkable capacity for love, is missed more than words can express. Emma Leigh Bailey (May 30, 1983-May 21, 2007).
